Where else can you find such a wide flat area with great views to walk on? If the idea of a daily walk on the beach is attractive, then you need to find a place to live close to the beach.
Not only does Pacific Beach have the beach lifestyle, it also has a prolific restaurant and coffee shop collection on Mission Blvd. Grab a coffee at Better Buzz to enjoy while you stroll the beach. And for those who like nightlife, there are plenty of packed bar/restaurants that have outdoor and rooftop spaces. So whether you like the quiet life or some together time with your friends, Pacific Beach has something to offer.
Pacific Beach has a good assortment of condos and townhomes in many price ranges for those who love this kind of lifestyle without having to drive for it. You'll find some of the older low rise condos several blocks from the beach will be most affordable. And the condos and townhomes with ocean views or those that are a block away will go for a premium.
Ocean View Condos in Pacific Beach
The Grand Dame of ocean view condos in Pacific Beach is Capri by the Sea. You can't miss this highrise right on Pacific Beach when you drive down Mission Blvd, because it towers over other buildings at 12 stories. Every condo in this building has frontal beach and ocean views with floor-to-ceiling windows. Sunsets are to die for in these condos. The rooftop deck has some lounge space and barbecues along with the views. Capri By the Sea is one of several condo buildings that do allow short term rentals, so if you're looking for extra income when you aren't using the condo, these may be a good choice.
Ocean Point is a low rise building a little south of Capri By the Sea. Some condos have full on ocean views, while others are side views.
Sea Shore, just north of the Pier, has mostly side views of the ocean, but end units have direct ocean views.
Inland Pacific Beach for a Little Less and a Little Quiet
As you head away from the beach, there are neighborhoods that have less traffic and people than those right on the beach or next to Mission Blvd. The Pacific Tower highrise gives you city views and some ocean views, but at a lower price than Capri By the Sea. For a lower HOA fee, consider a low rise condo, like Pacific Plaza Terrace, where remodeled condos go for a third less than condos at the beach.Sail Bay Condos
Sail Bay is a quieter inlet in South Pacific Beach, and is shared partly with the Mission Beach area. Residents who like to putter around on a Paddleboard will appreciate living here. There are several condo buildings right on the beach, like The Sanderling Pacific Beach, that has a pool overlooking the bay as well. Bay Song is a smaller condo building next to The Sanderling.
